How we handle your data
Last updated 23 September 2026. This covers the redgambit.ai website and the Red Gambit Assistant, the agent software that can connect to your Gmail account when you ask it to.
This website
redgambit.ai has no analytics, no trackers and no cookies. If you email us at support@redgambit.ai, we use your message and address only to reply to you.
Red Gambit Assistant and Google data
Red Gambit Assistant runs on a machine you or your organisation control. When you connect a Google account to it, it asks Google for two permissions:
gmail.readonly, to search and read messages when you ask about your email;gmail.compose, to create drafts and, only when you explicitly ask and a person approves it, send a message.
We use this access only to do what you ask the assistant to do, for you. Specifically:
- No selling, no advertising. Data from your Google account is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to build profiles about you.
- No training. It is never used to train or improve general-purpose AI models, ours or anyone else's.
- No people reading it. Nobody at Red Gambit reads your email. The only exceptions are the ones Google allows: with your explicit permission, when needed for security (for example investigating abuse), or to comply with the law.
- Stays with the installation. Email content is processed on the machine that runs the assistant. Your Google credentials are stored on that machine only, readable by the operating-system account that runs the software.
- Sending needs a person. The assistant can prepare drafts, but it cannot send an email on its own: every send waits for a human to approve it.
Red Gambit's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
AI models
By default the assistant uses a model that runs on the same machine, so email content does not leave it. If the operator of your installation enables a cloud model, the content needed to answer a request (for example, the emails you asked about) is sent to that model provider, currently Anthropic, only to produce the answer and under that provider's commercial data terms, which do not permit training on it. Your installation's operator decides which applies.
Logs
The software keeps a tamper-evident audit log of what the assistant did, such as "searched mail" or "created a draft", so its actions can be reviewed. Personal data detected in those entries is redacted before it is written.
Keeping and deleting
Emails are fetched from Gmail only when you ask about them. What the assistant tells you, including any summary of your email, is kept in your conversation history on the installation until you delete that conversation. To remove the assistant's access to Gmail at any time, disconnect it in the portal, or revoke it in your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking stops all access immediately.
